This is Maverick X's complete guide to canning. It is by no means complete yet, so check back in a few weeks (when and if I have to time to spare after wading through my seemingly endless piles of homework)

The Paintball Net Dance

First of all, you need a can. Buy this item at the middle store. Then, target up to 1 space away from you in any direction. Any victim that your target lands on will be splatted (NOTE: The victim must be already on the space that your target lands on. If it walks onto your target, then your target will not fire).

Next, you'll want to decide whether you want to combine hiding and canning or use padding and canning. There obvious advantages to both.

If you chose to take padding, then get as much as you can possibly get. Try to use jetpack for this, rather than turbo. If you chose to take a hider suit and combine it with canning, then make sure you have turbo (if you can, it would be better to use jet, but hider and jet is generally not possible).

Regardless of which canning technique you pick, the principles of canning don't change: use any way you can think of to get your target over your victim. This can be accomplished in a number of ways, many of which (the ones that I know) I will tell.

The easiest target is the non-moving target. I respect your intelligence, and so will not tell you how to can the non-moving target.

The 'second easiet' target is the gunner/nader/rocketer. For the padded, jetpack canner, go through trees and other obstacles to get at a gunner or rocketer (the obstacles prevent your opponent from hitting you). If you see no obstacles, then charge at him for a few spaces (5 maybe) then change your direction. (NEVER change your direction to the opposite directiont that you were going. This accomplishes nothing. Guns and rockets hit anything in their path, so running backward still keeps you in the path.) Move in a direction 90 degrees to your original direction. Keep doing this, never backing away from your opponent, always getting closer, and eventually you will be in canning distance.

If your opponet runs from you (like a smart gunner/nader/rocketer would), then chase his butt down, making sure to stagger your movement a bit (to avoid an anticipated shot coming at you).

Your toughest foe will probably come from the able canner. His goal is the same as yours, and his techniques will probably be similar. It is more important to have your target placed correctly against a canner than it is against anyone else. If your target is placed away from him, and his is towards you, then he has a better chance of killing you because his target will get to you before yours gets to him.
